The Mart Masterplan

The listed auction mart was once a focal point of the village but had fallen into disrepair. Funding was secured to carry out a total refurbishment of the Mart building and this work has now been completed however, the surrounding land remains in a semi-derelict condition. Cropka Architects were asked to carry out a master planning exercise to explore how the site could be brought back to life as a thriving community hub. The design uses upcycling principles, re-using shipping containers as the building blocks for the new scheme to create a bustling multiple use complex for the village and surrounding area.
