The new Karowa-Okrzei Bridge is an important element in the complex urbanscape of the City of Warsaw. It not only provides a necessary link in the city’s circulation but first and foremost complements the panorama of the very heart and centre of Poland’s capital.

The form of the bridge has been carefully shaped – not to compete with existing landmarks. The concept does not repeat solutions currently provided for Vistula river crossings, but offers a fresh, complementary design which echoes the nearby arched Slasko-Dabrowski Bridge.

On the 14th of June Warsaw celebrated opening of the spectacular Bulwary Wislane project. The Karowa-Okrzei Bridge aims to respect and complement the newly completed boulevard. Generous headroom under the deck as well as retention of existing boulevard levels ensures the continuity of the promenade is not disrupted.

The bridge design is simple and elegant. A double arch is both structural engineering and aesthetic driven. The form is unique and creates an eye catching iconic structure in the heart of the city.
