UpMo - a new hub for adults with learning difficulties and autism

We are very pleased to announce we have been appointed by Upwards Mobility Ltd (UpMo) to design a new hub for their creative and educational workshops.

UpMo is an organisation focused on helping adults with learning difficulties develop their potential with a diverse range of creative activities – everything from art and design, fashion and gardening to cheerleading, film making and School of Rock.

Our design focuses on UpMo students and their families delivering spaces that meet their needs and help them develop their potential and make a difference to their lives.

The design is as innovative as the UpMo organisation itself. Creative workshop spaces will be constructed from shipping containers. This technique will improve speed of construction and reduce the construction time as well as allow us to develop spaces that are entirely unique fitting the creative character of the UpMo charity.

We have upgraded to ArchiCAD 22 - our team is now fully capable to deliver even the most complex projects using Building Information Modelling technology. Moving to BIM allows us to communicate our designs better with our Clients, improve control of cost and,  coordinate with our consultants using intelligent 3D models and intelligent clash detection systems.

Many thanks to Dakea, Altaterra and VKR Holding for inviting our Piotr Piotrowski to give a lecture on sustainability, daylighting and breakthrough technologies coming to architecture and construction industry in the very near future. Piotr shared his knowledge of current development trends and changes to building regulations which are forcing new innovations onto the market. Groundbreaking projects from around the world have been discussed giving examples of what might become a new standard for building industry.
